Appeal for new members of Coddington Women's Institute amidst covid-19 pandemic

Coddington WI continues to meet on the second afternoon of the month at 2pm and, slowly, numbers are rising again as we learn to live with covid and omicron.

Member Lesley Walker said: “It’s been great to welcome some new members into our group and to have the opportunity to meet, chat and share our different experiences of living with a pandemic, even if we do need to wear masks to meetings.

“We’ve continued to welcome speakers on a diverse range of subjects and finished the year with our annual Christmas party, a sit-down tea, carols led by Joyce Allen at the piano, and entertainment from our oldest member, Pat Hemingway, who, as always, gave us one of her wonderful Christmas readings.

“The new year began with a talk on the Women’s Refuge and in February we have, along with our usual committee business, refreshments and chat, a speaker who can help us understand the lives of owls.”

Anyone interested in joining can simply go along to a meeting in the village hall.

There is no need to join until you’ve attended for a couple of months.
