Newark’s Buttermarket filled will over 60 members of the Best Years Hub
More than 60 elderly members of the community came together to celebrate the first anniversary of a project to tackle isolation and loneliness.
On Tuesday (August 5), the Buttermarket welcomed the Best Years Hub celebration afternoon tea to mark the group’s first anniversary.
The event came as part of the Newark Festival of Food, organised by Newark Town Council, Newark and Sherwood District Council, and We Are Newark.
The closed event celebrated the group’s growth over the past year, as it now has nine Best Year Hubs running across the district.
The Best Years Hub are dedicated to improving the lives of those over 65 and promotes friendship, health advice, seated exercise, games and quizzes, benefits advice, day trips and help using phones and devices.
