Boris Johnson meets supporters locally
Boris Johnson, the frontrunner in the race to become the next Prime Minster, was in Bleasby to meet supporters.
Mr Johnson went to the village straight from taking part in the leadership election hustings with the other candidate still in the race, Jeremy hunt, at the Belfry Conference Centre in Nottingham.
Mr Johnson was in Bleasby to meet local residents at the invitation of the Newark MP Robert Jenrick, who is supporting him in the race to become the next leader of the Conservative Party and therefore the next Prime Minister following Theresa May's decision to quit.
He met more than 250 people from across the constituency.
Mr Jenrick is supporting Boris and is now a member of his transition team advising on policy and preparing for Government if should he win the contest.
