Care home Kings Court on Flaxley Lane, Middlebeck fundraises for community defribillator
A new care home has raised over £500 to contribute towards a community defibrillator.
Kings Court on Flaxley Lane, Middlebeck held a raffle and plenty of games for visitors on its official open day.
During the open day, guests were given a tour around the care home named in honour of King Charles III and treated to a homemade buffet.
The home manager at Kings Court, Tarnya Fairburn, said: “Thank you to everyone who visited our new home and helped us to raise such a fantastic amount for a defibrillator in Middlebeck. Keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook page for updates on our progress.”
Mayor Laurence Goff, who stepped down on May 14 was present at the event.
“It was a pleasure to meet so many wonderful people from our community during the Open Day, and an honour to welcome Mayor Councillor Laurence Goff. We’re proud to say we are now officially open, and we’re very excited to welcome our first residents,” added Tarnya.
Laurence Goff said: “It was good to open such an impressive care home. I was struck by how much has been done to be environmentally friendly throughout.
“I hope that the location by a school will lead to good links between the generations, as both young and old have much to learn from the other.”
