CCTV images released after violent assault on train leaves man with fractured eye socket




Detectives investigating a violent assault, which left a man with a fractured eye socket, have today released a CCTV image in connection with their inquiry.

At 11.30pm on March 22, the victim, a man in his thirties was punched to the face by another passenger.

The incident happened on a LNER service travelling between London King's Cross and Newark Northgate.

Officers believe the man in this CCTV image has information which could help them investigate.

PC Steve Duck, from British Transport Police, said: “The victim was left with a very nasty injury which required a complicated operation. He still requires on going treatment, but thankfully his injuries are not life changing.

“I would be keen to hear from anyone who can help us identify the man shown in this CCTV image.
