Dilwyn Evans from Clarkson’s Farm and Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher to attend Flintham & District Ploughing Match and Show




Traditional ploughing, as well as contemporary stars, will all be on the schedule for an ever-popular village show.

The 102nd Flintham & District Ploughing Match and Show, hosted by the Flintham & District Agriculture Society, is set to take place on September 26 at Hawksworth Manor.

This year, the show is to be visited by celebrity guests including Kelvin Fletcher, who plays Andy Sugden in Emmerdale, and also stars in his own TV show, ‘Fletcher’s Family Farm’.

Dilwyn Evans from Clarkson’s Farm will also be attending, and will be sharing his expertise in the veterinary field,as well as his experiences working on the hit Amazon TV show.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the many trade stands being run by local businesses, old fashioned ploughing, and visiting the livestock.

There will be a range of events running throughout the day, including the Shetland Pony Grand National, horse and tractor ploughing, cattle and sheep classes, and a hedging competition.

The educational tent will also display the bygones from farming through the years, and guests are invited to enter the horticultural competition, with classes including home-baked goods, vegetable growing, wine making, and flower arranging.

There will also be competitions throughout the day including biggest pumpkin and largest marrow with prizes being awarded for the winner.
