Confirmed coronavirus cases in Newark and Sherwood reaches 1,393 (Saturday, October 24) amid government Tier 3 talks for Nottinghamshire

There have been 38 new coronavirus cases confirmed in Newark and Sherwood according to Public Health England, taking the total to 1,393.

Ashfield 1,576 (up 50) Bassetlaw1,353 (up 34) Broxtowe 1,794 (up 57) Gedling 1,745 (up 64) Mansfield 1,125 (up 90) Newark and Sherwood 1,393 (up 38) Rushcliffe 1,855 (up 61) Nottingham 9,787 (up 253) Nottinghamshire 10,841 (up 394).

Tier 3 talks for Nottinghamshire between council leaders and the government have been 'ongoing' since Thursday (October 22). It is not clear whether those talks concluded last night (Friday, October 23) or whether they will be continuing into next week.

It is believed when Tier 3 is imposed, it will only affect Nottingham City, Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe.

According to the latest public data ­— 830,998 patients in the UK have tested positive and 44,571 people have died.
