Crime writer Stephen Booth to give talk
Crime novelist Stephen Booth will be the speaker at a meeting of Fosseway Writers’ Group at Newark Library on Thursday.
His books are set in the Peak District and follow the exploits, investigations and careers of detectives Ben Cooper and Diane Fry.
His first Cooper and Fry novel, Black Dog, won the 2001 Barry Award for best British crime novel and was an Amazon hot 100 best seller in the US.
His 16th book in the series, Secrets Of Death, was released in paperback earlier this month.
His 17th, Dead In The Dark, is published in July.
The chairman of Fosseway Writers, Jackie Leitch, said they were fortunate to have a writer of Stephen’s talents based in the East Midlands.
“It promises to be a fascinating insight into how to write crime fiction, make it believable and considering Stephen’s incredible success with Cooper and Fry, keep it fresh and exciting each time,” she said.
The meeting is open to members and non-members. Admission is £1.
The Fosseway Writers, a local writing group, meet twice a month for workshops and visiting speakers.
