Day comes to an abrupt halt for trainee Nottingham City Transport bus driver




The driver of this training bus's day came to an abrupt halt when their vehicle somehow ended up like this.

The front of the bus is in the road while the rear is in a field and the centre section appears to be resting on the verge.

The incident happened on Brecks Lane between Elston and Shelton today (Wednesday).

The bus belongs to Nottingham City Transport and it has 'award-winning bus drivers train here' on its side.

A learner driver was under supervision at the time.

There was some traffic disruption on the back roads as a result of the incident.

As one are resident put it from the scene, it was a good job there weren't passengers on board.

"The driver was under instruction. One man left in charge. The driver been taken back to base. He's awaiting the Nottingham City Transport team to move the bus.

"It's blocking the road.

"Cars can squeeze passed but a lorry or something similar can't.

"It's cold and windy. No warning signs, flashing lights or triangles."

Nottingham City Transport has been approached for comment.
