Newark MP Robert Jenrick to host the Senior Citizens Fair on July 4 at Balderton Village Centre




An MP is set to host a fair, showcasing the opportunities and support available for senior citizens.

Robert Jenrick, MP for Newark, will host the Senior Citizens Fair next Friday (July 4), at Balderton Village Centre, from 10.30am to 1pm.

The event is an opportunity for older members of the community to chat with a variety of health, wellbeing, and lifestyle groups and discover how they can receive help or get involved.

The MP’s senior citizens and community fairs have now be running for 10 years.

Mr Jenrick said: “It is lovely to see those who have been before and those who have visited my fair for the first time.

“Making old connections and new, drinking tea, coffee and eating homemade cake, getting people out of their homes promoting health and wellbeing.

“The exhibitors are on hand to offer guidance, showcase their organisations and encourage greater integration into their local community.

“Above all it is a fun event and one that I thoroughly look forward to hosting each year.”

Local, regional and national organisations attending this year’s fair will be; Active4Today, All in One Place, Alzheimer’s Society, Balderton Bowls Club, Barclays, Beaumond House, Friends of Newark Cemetery, Historic Newark in Bloom, Kings Court – Middlebeck, Newark & District U3A, Newark Hospital, Notts County Council – Shared Lives, Newark Dementia Carer’s GroupNotts Fire and Rescue, Nottinghamshire Police, Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, RAFA Balderton, Re-engage, and YMCA.

Entry is free, and cakes and hot drinks will be provided.
