Safe that vanished from Coronation Street Playing Fields, Balderton, after it was stolen in a burglary turns up on woman's lawn
Police have recovered a safe believed to have been stolen during a burglary in Balderton.
A woman, who lives in the village, reported today that it was on her front lawn after her son and his friends brought it back from Coronation Street Playing Fields — where it had been seen on Saturday.
The safe had been stolen from an unoccupied bungalow in London Road which was recently broken into.
Detective Sergeant Jamie Moore, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We'd like to thank this woman for getting in touch with us and as well as other people who have contacted police and provided information.
"It will now form a key part of our investigation as we move forward with our enquiries."
Anyone with information that may assist officers is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 720 of September 14, 2020, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
