A worried Newark factory employee says he does not feel safe at work.
An employee at The Good Life Foods factory, on Brunel Drive, alleged that workers continued to turn up for their shift, despite testing positive for covid-19.
The worker, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: "There are people who have taken the test and are positive, but still come into work.
"We don't feel safe with positive tests around. Social distancing is impossible.
"They do not test workers or measure temperature.
"Every day a different agency comes, coming from different a town."
Debbie Carleton, HR manager, said: "Good Life Foods takes the wellbeing of its employees extremely seriously and as such we are in regular communications with the local authorities including the Environmental Health Officers (EHO) and The Health & Safety Executive (HSE), the measures which we have adopted to control the spread of covid-19 within our Newark facility are based on a combination of recommendations from the EHO and HSE.
"Our controls on site ensure we are a covid secure business and have helped limit the spread of the virus since the start of the pandemic.
"We will continue to review and adapt our procedures to ensure that they are in line with government guidelines."
