Strictly Come Dancing's Craig Revel Horwood writes foreword for Newark executive coach Karen Dean's book
A book by Newark author, Karen Dean and colleague Sam Humphrey has been deemed "FAB-U-LOUS" by Craig Revel Horwood, choreographer and Strictly Come Dancing judge who also wrote the foreword.
'Coaching Stories: Flowing and Falling of Being a Coach.' is a book that focuses on the ups and downs of being a coach through personal experiences.
Craig Revel Horwood wrote, "Karen Dean and Sam Humphrey have done a FAB-U-LOUS job in bringing the reader closer to an understanding of what 'really' goes on in the mind of coaches."
Craig's work as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing made him the perfect candidate to write the foreword.
Karen said, "Our book focuses on the journey from novice to mastery which creates a lovely parallel with Craig and his input to the dancers on Strictly Come Dancing. We invited him to write the foreword if he felt the material resonated with him."
Karen lives in South Muskham, Newark and has worked with Sam for the last 6 years. They collaborated on a winning feature article in Coaching at Work Magazine which gave them the confidence to go on and write their book encompassing 48 stories following experiences throughout both of their coaching lives.
Karen said, "Sam and I are completely similar in our ethos in coaching but very different in our personalities and style so it makes for a very interesting read with multiple perspectives. We wanted the book to not only focus on the experiences of executive coaches, but be accessible to all coaches."
"Being a coach is a deeply rewarding profession, but even the best coaches encounter moments of uncertainty and doubt."
'Coaching Stories: Flowing and Falling of Being a Coach' is released worldwide on February 27.
