Fire at Wetherspoons was in the basement

Firecrews have left the Wetherspoons Sir John Arderne pub in Newark Market Place after putting out a fire in the basement.

Two crews from the town's fire station attended this afternoon.

The fire in the basement and was put out by crews using a hose reel and fire extinguishers.

No one was injured.

Firefighters had dealt with the incident by 3.27pm.
