Newark Fun Palace is on the hunt for talent for community events

Newark’s first Fun Palace saw people of all ages try their hand at drumming, juggling, martial arts, basketball, drawing, knitting, puppeteering, chess and lots more last year.

Now the hunt is on for talented local people willing to help others learn more about their passions.

Fun Palaces help people to create cultural and community events across the UK that are free to enter, free to take part, and for those of any age, language, or skill.

Two meet and greet events have been organised so anyone interested can find out more information and get involved.

They are at the National Civil War Centre from 5.30pm to 7pm today and at Newark Library from 10am to 11.30am on Saturday, June 11.

Individuals or community groups are encouraged to attend if they have any skill to share, from something enjoyed as a hobby or profession, even recipes or five minute skills like origami. Those from the wider local community who have venues and would like to set up their own Fun Palaces are also welcome to join in and learn more.

Anyone wanting to attend should email sara.bullimore@inspireculture.org.uk
