A reunion is being organised for pupils who attended the Grove School, Balderton, from 1999 to 2004.

Alex Noble, 30, of Collingham, is organising the event along with a small group of friends.

He said the idea started when former classmate Emily Hatton posted online a group photograph taken in June 2004.

“A few of us mentioned that we hadn’t heard from each other in a while and although there have been attempts at planning a reunion before not with this level of interest,” he said.

Alex said ideally they would like a band to perform at the reunion. He would be MC for the evening and former students would have the chance to showcase their talents learnt during or after school.

He said he had been the class clown to amuse his classmates and had since gone on to be a stand-up comedian.

During the event, those attending will pay tribute to classmate Luke Fahey, who died, aged 26, of a heart attack. His widow, Sharran, has been invited to the event.

They will also be remembering former teacher Mr Glyn Smith(pictured front centre in the main image)who died in February.

There will be a display of old uniforms and text books at the reunion, being held at Balderton Cricket Club, Coronation Street, on March 31, from 7pm to midnight. Tickets cost £10 or £12 on the door.

They can be bought online at www.tickettailor.com/events/groveschoolclassof19992004/141161
