It's a Knockout : Fun event in aid of Newark Patriotic Fund
It was a fun-filled It's a Knockout event on Saturday.
The event, at Newark Rugby Club, raised money for the Newark Patriotic Fund - a charity that offers support for members of the Armed Forces who have suffered injury or mental health issues through their service, and their families.
Sixteen teams battled it out over the course, which was said to be great fun.
There was also live music, bouncy castles and face-painting.
The Mayor of Newark, Mrs Rita Crowe, performed the official opening.
Among the competitors was John Baldwin who was a member of a team from Newark that competed in the televised version of It's a Knockout in 1980 in the town's market place.
"It was great fun and well attended," said the chairman of the patriotic fund, Keith Girling, a former Grenadier Guardsman and a Nottinghamshire county councillor who is the authority's Armed Forces Champion.
"We made money and everybody enjoyed themselves. There was lots of laughter and lots of getting wet.
"The event raised the profile of the fund and it will return next year.
"Unfortunately we had a broken leg this year.
"John was there and said how much he had enjoyed it."
