Big Give Christmas Challenge goes online to aid Reach Learning Disability
Reach Learning Disability is taking part in this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge online with the hope it will also have twice the impact.
Reach hopes to raise £16,000 through the challenges, which has started and runs to midday Tuesday, December 7, for their Holidays & More Project. Funds raised will contribute towards the costs of organising a programme of safe and supportive opportunities for people with learning disabilities to go on day trips and holidays away, providing vital respite for family carers.
Reach client Tom said: “Because of covid-19 it’s been stressful as it’s changed nearly everything. I really missed my holiday last year.
“When I have a holiday booked with Reach, I feel really excited about it. It’s something new and we get to choose what we do.
“I get to see my friends and we have a good laugh together. I get to be independent there with support from staff when I need it.”
Fundraising director Julia Sandhu said: “Here at Reach we understand how important the bespoke holidays and day trips we organise are to clients and their families.”
