Horse put down after becoming stranded in a ditch

A horse which became stranded in a ditch had to be put down by a vet.

The animal lost its footing and ended up on her side in a ditch at Holme farm, Caunton.

A fire crew from Newark, a vet and specialist rescue units from Tuxford and Highfields, which specialise in animal rescue, were called to the scene at 9.25am on Tuesday.
