Lowdham garden steeped in history to open to public this weekend
An impressive garden steeped in history is opening to the public this weekend.
The Old Hall, on Church Lane, Lowdham, will be open on Saturday, from 12.30pm to 5pm, under the National Garden Scheme.
A mound of the original Ludham Castle sits in the grounds surrounded on three sides by a moat.
This garden has an impressive lime tree avenue leading to a wisteria-clad Old Hall, which is centrally located in this large country garden.
An expansive pergola is covered in a late white wisteria.
There is also a vegetable garden with raised beds and formal yew hedges divide this elegant garden.
There is wheelchair access and it is dog-friendly.
Plants and refreshments will be on sale.
The National Garden Scheme raises money for nursing and caring charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie.
Last year more than £3m were donated to good causes.
