Former Nottingham Forest footballer Jermaine Jenas has sent a good luck video message to pupils of the Magnus Academy in Newark who are taking part in a running challenge.

Jenas, who recently retired while at QPR after failing to recover from a knee injury, says in his message that he is looking forward to meeting the competitors at the school's February awards ceremony.

Every year pupils and staff at the Earp Avenue school take part in a 15 Mile Challenge around the playing field.

Twice around the Magnus field is approximately one mile.

The midfielder, who moved from Forest to Newcastle United and then Tottenham Hotspur, and has represented England, got involved because he has worked with Magnus PE teacher Scott McNeill in the past.

He is now a regular pundit on Match of the Day.

The Magnus awards take place on February 5.
