A WOMAN who failed to complete the Census Act questionnaire was fined at court.
Paula James had said she was the householder and paid the bills at the rental property on Carnarvon Place, Bingham, and admitted under caution she had refused to complete the questionnaire, which carries a fine of up to £1,000.
James was fined £110 at Nottingham Magistrates' Court and was also told to pay £119 costs.
A MOTORIST who had an unlawful numberplate was fined £220 and told to pay £124 in costs.
Stacey McBain, 34, of Petersmith Drive, Ollerton, Mercedes had a numberplate that was black with silver lettering.
The case against her was proved in absence.
AN UNLICENSED and uninsured driver who wilfully obstructed a police officer at the time he was stopped was fined by magistrates.
Warsame Warsame, (corr) 23, of Martindale Close, Leicester, admitted all three offences, which were committed in the Chatham Court area of Newark.
He was fined a combined £250, was ordered to be detained in the courthouse for the day, and had eight penalty points added to his driver's licence.
He must also pay £34 costs.
A MAN who admitted assaulting a woman was sentenced to a 12-month community order with rehabilitation and had a restraining order slapped on him.
Jason Mountney, of London Road, Newark, pushed a wooden gate causing a panel to break off and hit the woman to the thigh. He also raised a clenched fist towards her.
The 44-year-old was fined £80 and told to pay costs of £180.
A SHOPLIFTER was fined £120 and told to pay £52 in compensation for skin care creams he took from a store.
Shakur Carroll, 21, of Triumph Close, Eakring, pleaded guilty and was also told to pay £119 costs.
