Helen Sharman, the first Brit in space to launch a future pathway for students of the Newark's Air and Space Institute




The first Brit in space which launch a future pathway for students to follow in her footsteps.

Helen Sharman, a British chemist and cosmonaut who became the first British person, first Western European woman and first privately funded woman in space, as well as the first woman to visit the Mir space station, will headline the launch of Newark's Air and Space Institute's space studies pathway.

The event takes place at Newark Palace Theatre on Tuesday, November 15, at Newark Palace Theatre from 6pm to 7pm.

She will be addressing year 11 teachers and pupils and their parents ahead of the institute's space studies pathway launch with a first intake in September 2023.

She will give a presentation followed by a question and answer session.
