Pupils and staff at Lover’s Lane Primary School in Newark able to access revived multi-use games area following work by Bingham Groundworks

A multi-use games area that was previously forced to close after heavy rain and flooding has been resurfaced and reopened.

Pupils and staff at Lover’s Lane Primary School in Newark have been unable to use the space because of the weather conditions of the last few months.

However, works now completed by Bingham Groundworks have seen the tired old space given a new lease of life — with resurfacing helping to create a fresh and more accessible space.

The multi-use games area is used at playtime, lunchtime and for sports.

The Bingham company has also provided the school’s year five and year six boys football team with a new kit.

Headteacher Amy Graham said: “We don’t have much space at our school so we had to have it closed for quite a while. The previous surface wasn’t weatherproof and there were times where we couldn’t go on it.

“Now the new one means that it is an all-year-around space and that children have access to it.”

In the future, the Bingham company is looking at sponsoring the school’s netball team too.
