Lib Dem accuses Tories of neglect of Newark

Liberal Democrat candidate David Watts says the Conservatives have taken Newark for granted because it was a safe seat.

Former MP Patrick Mercer won with a 16,000 majority for the Tories in 2010.

Mr Watts said: "The Conservatives have taken Newark for granted as a safe seat, which is why our area hasn't had the attention or representation it deserves."
