Library to close due to strike
Newark Library is one of nine in the county likely to be closed tomorrow as council workers strike.
Members of Unison have voted to carry out industrial action in protest against cuts being planned by Nottinghamshire County Council.
The strike has been organised to coincide with the council's budget setting meeting at County Hall tomorrow.
The Friary and Whitewater learning disability day services are also due to be closed.
Cotgrave Library is set to be closed for the morning only.
Council chief executive Mr Mick Burrows said: "We have plans in place and would like to reassure the public that we will still provide all critical services to vulnerable people during the day of srike action by Unison.
"Unfortunately there will be some disruption to day care services and libraries.
"We will keep the public informed throughout Thursday via Twitter and our website of any further disruptions."
