Newark Mencap day centre, The Avenue, raise money for Christmas trips through a raffle

A host of Christmas treats are in store for users of Newark Mencap’s The Avenue day service thanks to the public’s generosity.

The charity organised a raffle to help contribute towards a variety of eagerly-awaited trips in the run-up to Christmas.

The draw raised £1,117.

“Our thanks go to the many generous individuals and companies for their kind prize donations and continued support,” said Sharon and Diane, managers of The Avenue.

The day centre, based at Newark Congregational Church, offers a range of activities for people with learning difficulties.
