Man appears in court following Yorke Drive incident




A 30-year-old man has appeared in court following an incident which saw a Newark road closed on Monday evening.

Police were called just before 7.15pm on Monday to Yorke Drive. Three fire crews and the East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended.

Mr Keiron Anderson, 30, of no fixed address, has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life, threats to kill and criminal damage.

He appeared today at Nottingham Magistrates' Court and has been remanded into custody until May 16, for a hearing at Nottingham Crown Court.

One person was taken to Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, following the incident.

The road was closed and diversions put in place to prevent motorists from travelling into Yorke Drive.
