32-year-old man arrested after discovery of class A drugs at Ollerton property and series of driving offences in Mansfield
A man was arrested on suspicion of the possession of class A drugs with intent to supply, writes Benjamin Lynch.
The 32-year-old was taken into custody on Sunday after the drugs were allegedly discovered at a property in Ollerton.
He was arrested on further charges after officers spotted a Ford Mondeo on Southwell Road, Mansfield, allegedly being driven without insurance.
When officers arrived at the scene the driver allegedly failed to stop, which led to a brief police pursuit, and resulted in the car crashing on Oak Tree Lane.
Police arrested the driver, who suffered injuries in the crash, and he was taken to hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
The man was arrested on suspicion of failure to stop; driving without insurance; dangerous driving; driving while disqualified; and possession of an offensive weapon in connection with the incident.
He was also arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with a separate incident of assault in Mansfield in March 2019.
Detective Sergeant Ricky Ellis, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Police pursuits are incredibly dangerous and our highly-trained officers do a magnificent job to bring them to the safest possible conclusion.
“We thoroughly investigate reports of any crime that threaten public safety and endeavour to ensure that appropriate action is taken against those believed to be responsible.”
