Rudolph Price charged with attempted murder following shooting on Tolney Lane Traveller site in Newark
A 50-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting incident in Newark this week.
Police were called to the Tolney Lane Traveller site shortly before 4pm on Wednesday following the attack.
The victim, a man aged in his 30s, was shot in the upper body and also attacked with a bladed weapon.
He was taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been discharged.
Rudolph Price, of Tolney Lane, was charged this morning and remanded in custody. He will appear in court later today.
Inspector Heather Sutton, of Nottinghamshire Police: “This was a targeted and isolated incident that has been investigated very swiftly.
"I understand that incidents involving firearms can cause considerable alarm, but I would like to stress that they are incredibly rare in the Newark area.
“We have maintained a heightened presence in the area throughout the week to further reassure local residents who I would like to thank for their patience and cooperation at what I know has been a difficult time.”
