A man indecently exposed himself to a cyclist as she travelled along a popular Newark route.

He flagged the 20-year-old woman down on a cycle path off Clay Lane which runs from Barnbygate. He was asking for directions so she stopped to help but as she spoke to him, he exposed himself.

It happened at about 10am on Sunday August 11.

The man is described as about 5ft 6in tall, about 35-years-old with short, blond, spiky hair. He was of average build, had a local accent and was wearing a red, hooded top with royal blue shorts.

Inspector Andy Gan from Newark Police Station said: “This part of Newark is well used by cyclists, runners, dog walkers and families and none of them should have to experience or fear this sort of behaviour.

“If you have been a victim of something similar, know who it is, or you have seen anything suspicious, in the area, please get in touch with us.”
