Electricity restored to most properties following earlier power cut

Electricity has been restored to most properties following a power cut affecting people in the NG24 postcode.

Western Power Distribution (WPD) said it was alerted to the problem, which initially affected 1,100 properties, at 1.30pm today (Tuesday).

Those affected were people in Farndon, Balderton and the southern part of Newark.

It was caused by a fault on overhead power cables.

There are now 41 properties without power. WPD said a full supply should be restored by 5.30pm.
