Motoring offences among latest cases from Nottingham Magistrates’ Court





Speeding motorists are among the latest offenders to be brought before Magistrates.

Kristian Putman, 28, of Stafford Avenue, Newark, drove a Yamaha at 50mph in a 40mph limit.

He changed his previous not guilty plea to guilty during an appearance at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on August 1.

The offence took place on May 2, 2023, when Putman drove on the A15 Bourges Boulevard, Peterborough.

He was fined £100 and ordered to pay costs of £125.

Three points were added to his licence.

Causil Emanya Samuels, 35, of Magpie Road, Cotgrave, was sentenced during an appearance at the court on August 5.

On July 13, 2023, Samuels failed to give police information relating to the identification of the driver of an Audi who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

She was fined £390, ordered to pay costs of £246, and had six points added to her licence.

Samuels avoided disqualification as the court heard she would struggle to get to work without a licence.

Matthew James, 34, of Savile Road, Bilsthorpe, also appeared in court on August 5.

On December 15, 2023, he drove a Mini on the A617 at Hockerton at 39mph, exceeding the 30mph limit.

James pleaded guilty to the offence on June 12.

He was fined £40, and ordered to pay costs of £60.

Three points were added to his licence.

Garcia Joao, 58, of Eastbrook, Corby, North Northamptonshire, also avoided disqualification when he was sentenced on August 5.

He pleaded guilty on June 12 to driving a BMW without due care and attention on the A1 southbound at Tuxford on November 15, 2023.

He was fined £569, ordered to pay costs of £318, and had six points added to his licence.

The driver avoided disqualification due to mitigating circumstances, due to the impact him losing his job would have on his family.

Mercedes driver Undjitjinda Maharero, 29, of York Street, Mexborough, was proven guilty in his absence on August 1.

Maharero drove at 38mph on the A6075 Lincoln Road, Tuxford which has a 30mph limit, on May 28, 2023.

He had pleaded not guilty to the offence on December 22, 2023.

Maharero was fined £220, ordered to pay costs of £338, and had three points added to his licence.
