Mother Natasha Bradley receives support from MP Robert Jenrick to implement a new law following her toddler’s Louisiana-Brooke's death in Ingoldmells caravan fire

A mother will meet with a government minister to further her fight to create a law to protect people after losing her two-year-old daughter to a fire.

Natasha Broadley, who has gathered the support of Newark MP Robert Jenrick, lost her daughter Louisiana Brooke Dolan at Sealands Caravan Park, Ingoldmells, in August 2021.

A fire broke out in a boiler cupboard and quickly spread, destroying 90% of the caravan and an inquest verdict for the toddler was an accidental death.

Natasha believes the fire was started by a faulty boiler, although that could not be proven, and is determined to change the law and make sure that others don’t go through the same agony.

She wants the law changed to make health and safety checks and gas certificates mandatory for caravans.

She met with Mr Jenrick to ask for help in reaching out to London’s parliament and implement the law.

“I explained the whole situation and the story behind it and he was passionate and supportive with it,” said Natasha.

“He kept repeating – Why has no one been prosecuted? – which is what we don’t understand, why isn’t there a law out there, which is what I am fighting for.

“The fact that it is my baby girl that is going to make a difference brings me so much comfort. I am fighting for it and I know Louisiana will make a change.”

Two hours after the meeting with Mr Jenrick, Natasha was contacted by the MP saying that Chris Philip, Minister of State for Crime, Policing and Fire wanted to arrange a meeting.

The mum created a petition in April this year which has already attracted over 4,000 names. It can be signed at https://shorturl.at/rEY18.

She added: “I am overwhelmed with it all, it’s very emotional and I am gonna keep going until I get to London and make a change.”
