Southwell Fire Station crews attend Rufford colliery grass fire overnight

Seven fire crews attended a grass fire overnight.

The blaze, at Rufford Colliery, covered an area of 200m by 150m, and crews used hoses and beaters to put out the fire.

The incident was reported at 6pm yesterday (Tuesday, August 9) and crews worked overnight, leaving the scene at 9.20am today (Wednesday, August 10)

Southwell Fire Station attended, alongside Mansfield, Worksop, Stockhill, Eastwood and London Road crews.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue also provided support.
