Newark and Sherwood District Council releases nearly £50,000 to Edwinstowe Parish Council for play area and facilities




Nearly £50,000 has been released to a council so it can start work on a play area and community facilities.

Edwinstowe Parish Council has received £43,479.63 from Newark and Sherwood District Council as part of an agreement with the developer of a 34-home development on High Street, Edwinstowe.

A total of £26,305.70 will go towards heating upgrades at Sherwood Fields Pavilion — home to Robin Hood Colts FC — the refurbishment of Edwinstowe Village Hall and the upgrade of the public toilets on Mansfield Road.

£17,173.93 has been set aside for the refurbishment of the children’s play space on Fourth Avenue.

An education contribution has also been collected on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council.

The district council's policy and finance committee approved the transfer of monies to Edwinstowe Parish Council.
