New deputy lieutenants for Notts
Her Majesty The Queen has agreed the appointment of five new Deputy Lieutenants for Nottinghamshire.
They are Mr Graham Cartledge, Dr. Nigel Dennis Chapman, Mrs Jean Pardoe, Mrs Veronica Pickering and Jane Todd.
Mr Cartledge, from Caunton, is the chairman of the architects, Benoy and regularly joins trade missions abroad.
He was awarded the CBE for services to architecture and charity in 2010.
He is a board member of Maggie’s Cancer Care Centres to support the growth of the charity, looking to help those affected by cancer in the UK and beyond.
He is an Associate Director at Nottingham Forest Football Club whom he has supported since he was a boy.
He is married with three children and five grandchildren.
Doctor Chapman was coroner for Nottinghamshire for more than 18 years, during which time he made significant changes both locally and nationally for the benefit of others.
Over the last 30 years he has consistently strived to better the lives of the elderly and vulnerable in healthcare.
He is continually committed to discussing and opening the profile as well as issues of the care and dignity of dying.
Mrs Pardoe lives in Lambley and is the Chief Executive Futures and GuideLine Career Services, a not-for-profit company which operates across the East Midlands delivering careers advice and employability advice to schools and young people.
Mrs Pickering has been a committed children and families social work practitioner within statutory child protection systems for more than 25 years.
Her work has involved working directly with children and their families from different cultural backgrounds.
Jane, from Mapperley, is a former chief executive of Nottingham City Council and Regional Director of Government Office East Midlands.
She is a chairman of Transforming Notts Together - a joint venture company between Church Urban Fund and Diocese, a Member of Cultural Quarter Board and a Member of the Renewal Trust.
Nottinghamshire’s Lord-Lieutenant, Sir John Peace, from Caunton, said: “I would like to congratulate Graham, Nigel, Jean, Veronica and Jane on their new positions.
"I know they will serve the people of Nottinghamshire well in their new roles.”
