Allotment Kitchen and Deli is now open in Gusto House, Collingham
A new eatery has opened, offering something a little different from what a lot of residents in the area are probably used to consuming.
The Allotment Kitchen and Deli which is located in the recently opened Gusto House, Collingham, offers plant-based cuisine to those who walk through its doors.
The premises has a focus on sustainability and this is reflected from its menu to its decor.
Proprietor Gemma Whitelock said that feedback about The Allotment had so far been overwhelmingly positive.
"We have had a lot of people come to the cafe who don't identify themselves as vegan or vegetarian.
"There have been some really lovely comments from people who are happy with the food and they've indicated that they will come back."
Whitelock is familiar to many across the district from her time delivering food boxes to customers during lockdown when lining up at grocery stores was difficult or not appealing to a lot of people.
She is also a staple at the Station Road ground in Collingham where she serves her food on home game days for step five side, Newark and Sherwood United.
The plant-based menu offers a viable and tasty alternative to people who want to try something a bit different said Whitelock.
The child-friendly venue is open from 9am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays.
