New management team set to take over at Newark pub
A Newark pub will be under new management from the beginning of next month.
The Clay Tavern, on Slaughterhouse Lane, Newark, has been run by Marston’s for 15 years.
LT Management will take over from August 31 after winning a re-tendering process.
The pub, formerly known as The Wheatsheaf, will be closed for four days from Saturday before it changes hands.
The pub has been managed for two years by Stewart and Alison Kemp, who will leave before the new company takes over.
Mr Kemp said: “We would like to thank our customers and friends for the last two years of friendship and loyalty.
“It has been a good two years and we will be sad to see it go.
“We will be moving on to another pub but, which one, we don’t know yet.
“It might be another one in Newark or it might be one further afield.”
