Newark Book Festival Returns for 2022 after successful funding bid to Arts Council England
Organisers have announced that Newark Book Festival will return again this year.
The festival has been successful with a recent funding bid to Arts Council England, which will help fund festival activities in the Newark and Sherwood area.
The summer book festival in Newark will run from July 7-10, including the usual author events, family favourites and an online programme.
The programme is being finalised.
There will also be a Schools Programme for local schools and a Young Journalist Newsroom for those interested in journalism.
As well as the summer event, Newark Book Festival on tour will hold pop-up events across the district throughout the year.
“We are very proud to have been awarded this essential funding boost from Arts Council England, it’s very exciting to start planning a festival for our community to enjoy this summer,” said festival artistic director Sara Bullimore.
“Alongside this we need to secure additional funds to bring our plans to life. This is a call to arms for our Newark and Sherwood book-loving community to support the arts in whatever way they can.”
She is encouraging people to join the Festival Friends scheme.
Organisers are also on look out for Newark businesses to become festival sponsors.
