Newark Waitrose confirms staff member with positive covid-19 test is isolating

A supermarket in Newark has confirmed a member of staff is isolating after a positive coronavirus test.

Waitrose confirmed the positive case earlier today.

The store also said other members of staff have been asked to self isolate.

In a statement issued by Waitrose, which has a store on Ossington Way, a spokesman said: “We have cleaned all touchpoints in our Newark shop after a partner working there tested positive for covid-19.

"A handful of workers that have been identified as a close contact to that partner have been informed and are now self isolating, and we are in contact with our local public health protection scheme to take all action necessary to protect our partners and customers.

"We are in touch with our partners and wish them a speedy recovery.”
