Nominations needed for award championing environmentally friendly farming in Nottinghamshire

The Nottinghamshire Farming and Wildlife Group wants to celebrate the environmental good work being carried out on the county’s farms.

It plans to showcase the excellent farm conservation practises in the county with the launch of the Nottinghamshire Farm Environment Award 2022.

The South Notts Branch of the National Farmers Union is sponsoring this year’s prize of £100, which will be presented to the winner with a specially-commissioned commemorative award.

The prize will be awarded across all nominations so farms and holdings of all types and sizes are eligible to enter, provided the business is run on a commercial basis in Nottinghamshire.

Phil Jarvis, NFU Environment Forum member representing the East Midlands, said: “I have previously judged the awards and enjoyed a fantastic day seeing the benefits the entrants’ hard work was providing for our wildlife.

“The awards give Nottinghamshire farmers a brilliant opportunity to show the farming and wider community just what good work they are doing to protect the environment.”

If you know a farm that ought to be considered, including your own, tell Nottinghamshire Farming and Wildlife Group about it by filling in a simple nomination.
