Archbishop Cranmer Church of England Academy, Aslockton, classed as outstanding across all its areas by Ofsted
A ‘school of opportunities’ has received an outstanding Ofsted report.
Archbishop Cranmer Church of England Academy, Aslockton, which caters for four to 11-year-olds, was rated as outstanding across all areas during the latest inspection, which took place on December 6, 2023.
It has not previously been assessed since it took academy status, but the primary school was also judged by Ofsted to be outstanding before its conversion in 2014.
Head Melanie Stevens said: "Our Ofsted report reflects the dedication and hard work of our entire school community.
“We are delighted to be recognised as outstanding in all areas, and this achievement is a testament to the exceptional efforts of our staff, students, parents, carers and governors.”
The report mentioned how the pupils spoke very highly of their school, described it as a ‘school of opportunities’ and said ‘everyone is welcome here’.
Inspectors also applauded the school's wide range of activities, designed to complement the enhanced curriculum offered with pupils actively participating in many clubs and visits.
They also noted that pupil leadership roles covered a broad spectrum, from caring for the school's hens to being digital leaders, demonstrating a sense of responsibility and community engagement.
The report also highlighted the effectiveness of the academy's safeguarding arrangements, affirming its dedication to providing a safe and secure environment for all students.
Mrs Stevens added: "We were able to showcase our curriculum over the two days, and the pupils articulated their learning so well.
"We are overjoyed with the recognition from Ofsted. We invite everyone to come and visit us — we still have places available.
“Our doors are open, and we look forward to sharing the excellence that defines Archbishop Cranmer C of E Academy."
