Reader’s letter: Picking on the disabled

I’m not one to write to the papers and have never had the need to but I am completely disgusted with the parking attendants at the car park in Morrisons. On this particular occasion my sister, who is very disabled with a blue badge, got out of her car and put her keys in her pocket and took her hand out of her pocket dropping a receipt.

Next thing was a man pounced and told her she had a ticket for £75. She cannot bend down anyway to pick anything up with her disability and he did not offer either.

My sister spoke to the manager in Morrisons who said they pop up anywhere.

At the same time my sister received her ticket, another disabled man received a ticket.

What is this, attack the disabled time in Morrisons car park?

My sister has a very tight budget and can only pay her ticket when she gets paid and paid her ticket yesterday.

She was one day late so in total she had to pay £150. She could not pay the £75 any earlier as she had no money.

What on earth is going on with victimising the disabled to accrue more revenue?

It is totally disgraceful.

This money should be refunded to all the disabled people that have been targeted. — M. BYRNE, via email.
