Police at an address in Aslockton for two days investigating unexplained death of man at family home
Police have been at the scene of a unexplained death at a home on an isolated village lane.
Te first indication something bad had happened was when an ambulance arrived at the address on Mill Lane in Aslockton on Tuesday morning.
An Aslockton resident said: "There has been an incident in a house on Mill Lane in Aslockton.
"An ambulance was at the property, near the blacksmiths, on Tuesday morning.
"Since then there has been a continuous police presence.
"There was a large group of CID officers going door-to-door on Tuesday afternoon and forensic teams were there all of Tuesday afternoon and again yesterday.
"CID, a group of circa eight officers were still there at 10.30pm that evening.
"As of 1.45pm Thursday) there are still two marked police cars in the drive.
"The suggestion from the door to door enquiries was suspicious death.
"The house is occupied by a marrieed couple with a young teenage daughter - no sign of them at the property.
"It seems highly unusual that the police would devote so much resource to this and keep it so low key - also that they would have officers standing outside the house given the high temperatures that have been experienced - especially on Tuesday.
"Neighbours are concerned, not least that something untowards has happened to the family."
A spokesman from Nottinghamshire Police said: "Officers were called to an address in Mill Lane, Aslockton, shortly before 11.15am on Tuesday following a report of a man’s sudden death.
"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and investigations are ongoing.”
