Newark Police investigate incident of sexual communication with a child in Collingham




Police are investigating after a boy was heard talking graphically about sex acts to a younger boy.

The younger boy, aged 9, was out with his grandmother at a play park in Collingham when the incident took place.

The woman found two older boys who were strangers to them talking to her grandson and overheard one of them talking to him about sexual acts.

The two older boys ran away when confronted.

Inspector Matt Ward, of Newark Police, said there was no suggestion that any sexual touching had taken place.

He said it appeared to have been an isolated incident and urged anyone with information to come forward.

"We are investigating a report of sexual communication made to a young child while at a play park in Collingham," he said.

"Investigations are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information to come forward."

The officer in the case is Pc Gareth Nicholls and the incident number is 364 of October 27.
