Ashiana at North Muskham, near Newark, crowned as the best Bangladeshi restaurant in England at the 12th annual English Curry Awards

A well-known and much-loved restaurant has added another jewel to its culinary crown after being crowned as the best Bangladeshi restaurant in England at the 12th annual English Curry Awards.

Ashiana Indian and Bangladeshi Restaurant in North Muskham won the national food award against eateries from all over the nation.

The award is the latest accolade for the restaurant which was a past finalist in the British Curry Awards and in 2019 won the East Midlands Restaurant of the Year at the English Curry Awards.

The competition was fierce this year, with the shortlist being whittled down from nearly 7,000 restaurants across England to just ten.

The Ashiana received the ultimate recognition for its innovation, and authentic dishes it serves, as it brought the winner’s trophy home to Newark.

Saiqul Miah, owner of the Ashiana Indian and Bangladeshi Restaurant said as he collected the award:

“They have supported us through the difficulties of the last few years and continue to support the Ashiana as all hospitality businesses struggle in the current economic climate.

“Being nominated for a prestigious national award like this by our customers, and then winning Bangladeshi Restaurant of the Year is a highlight for us all.”
