Praise for developer of Newark homes who allowed planning application to be debated
Ablehomes LTD was praised as a developer who listens when a planning application was debated for nine homes on the former Elm Avenue Playing Field in Newark was debated.
With the proposal already agreed, Newark Town Council’s planning committee was debating reserved matters such as appearance of the properties, landscaping, layout and scale.
While some members lamented the loss of the playing field, there was an acknowledgement the homes would now be built.
The housebuilder was praised by members for taking on board previous comments made on behalf of neighbouring properties to address issues with loss of privacy and space, which, it was said, had addressed those concerns. A request by the committee for hedgehog holes had also been adopted.
The application now goes to the district council for determination with no objections from the town council.
