The event included a barbecue, bouncy castle, face painting and inflatable slide.

It raised £500 for the Friends of Newark Orchard School to add to £1,500 already raised throughout the year.

Lisa Whaley, chairman of Friends of Newark Orchard School, said: “We are so grateful for all of the help from the Lord Ted team and customers, who have offered us plenty of much-appreciated support throughout the year.

“The charity is run by a small group of volunteers who also contribute towards resources. Much of our equipment is outdated and limited, and without support from our kind partners, equipment cannot be renewed or replaced by the school due to budget limitations.

“Every pound raised is therefore integral to us keeping the school running, providing much-needed support to those who need it most.”

Simon Keane, general manager at the Lord Ted, said: “Newark Orchard School was selected as our charity partner for the year by team members and customers alike, who all recognise the truly fantastic service that the school offers to the community.”
