Winners of Milestone Brewery Quiz of the Year to donate prize money to Beaumond House Hospice Care, Newark

Top quizzers are to donate their winnings to Newark's Beaumond House Hospice Care.

The team won the Milestone Brewery Quiz of the year, postponed from Christmas.

Team member Annabelle Bell said the team wanted to donate the £50 winnings to Beaumond House as a very close school friend of her's dad was cared for there, and the charity had always been dear to her heart.

The team was made up of Ian Fairweather (team captain), Matt Bell, Maisie Dunn, Adam Breslin and Annabelle.

The team names are always silly, little quiz puns, such as Quiztina Aguilera, Merry Quizmas, and their favourite, You’re a quizzard Harry.

Annabelle said: "We all love a good quiz and go as often as our schedules allow.

"Usually we would have Adam’s husband, Edward with us but unfortunately he was unwell so could make the quiz.

"Ian and Maisie host a regular Christmas quiz at Carlton Village Hall, it used to be in their home but it gained popularity so a move to the village hall was necessary."

The Milestone Brewery now do a regular quiz hosted by Nicola Creasey.

They’re suitable for all ages an abilities, and are held between 7-9pm most weeks.

The winner gets the pot and runner up gets a round of drinks.

Maisie will be donating the money online on Monday.
